Hitachi Power Tools announces the newest additions to its Cordless Nailer lineup with a New Series of Battery Powered Cordless Brushless Framing Nailer models; NR1890DR 18V Plastic Strip Framing Nailer and NR1890DC 18V Paper Strip Framing Nailer.

This series combines Hitachi’s reputation as the Pro Preferred Brand of Pneumatic Nailers* with its unique Lifetime Tool Warranty on Cordless tools to deliver the quality and performance expected from a Hitachi framing nailer. Recently, these cordless framing nailers won a 2017 Innovation Award for best-in-class products that are ahead of their time.

Get more done with less and experience total fastening freedom from Hitachi by losing the dirty hose, the noisy compressor and expensive gas cartridges. These cordless framing nailers utilize Hitachi’s unique Air Spring Drive System that uses sealed compressed air to drive each nail.

How this works: the piston rests part way down the cylinder when the tool is idle. When powered on, the Brushless motor drives the piston to the top position, compressing the sealed air. Once the trigger is depressed, the piston shoots down and drives the nail.

This unique system results in zero ramp up time, up to 2 nails per second in driving speed and recoil that feels like a pneumatic nailer. Best of all, there is no need to ever refill the tank.

However, if the nailer should require maintenance such as a Driver or O-ring replacement, these nailers can be easily serviced by any Hitachi Authorized Service Center (ASC). Once work is complete, the ASC uses a Hitachi issued tool specific refill regulator gauge that automatically refills the air tank to the nailers specific requirements and then nailer is ready to go.

The Hitachi NR1890DR 18V Cordless Plastic Strip Nailer accepts 2” up to 3-1/2” 21° plastic collated strip fasteners. At 10.8 lbs., with the compact 3.0Ah battery, this cordless framing nailer is well-balanced for easy maneuverability.

The Hitachi NR1890DC 18V Cordless Paper Tape Nailer accepts 2” up to 3-1/2” 30°+/- paper tape strip fasteners (either clipped head or offset round head). At only 10.6 lbs., with the compact 3.0Ah battery, this cordless framing nailer is well-balanced for less user fatigue.

The on-tool control panel located at the base of the handle centralizes the power button, battery charge indicator and selective actuation. To activate the tool, the power button must be depressed for more than 1 second until the green light appears. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the nailer powers off for added safety and to conserve battery power. The battery charge indicator button can be depressed to check the available power in the battery pack, for less downtime. The selective actuation button lets the user quickly select between sequential mode or bump fire mode.

Both nailers are capable of driving up to 400 nails per charge using the included compact 3.0Ah battery. Both models are equipped with a convenient tool-less depth-of-drive dial that can be easily adjusted to adapt to woods of varying density. The pivoting rafter hooks adds convenience for when the tool is not being used. The ergonomically formed, non-slip rubber grip handles are designed for comfort during extended use. A safety lockout feature is employed as an additional safety measure.

In contact mode, when the trigger is pulled, the nailer must be depressed against the intended material within 2 seconds or the trigger will lock. In sequential mode the trigger must be pulled within 2 seconds of depressing the work contact or lock-out will occur. To unlock, the trigger is simply released and then pulled again to resume operation.

This series is powered by Hitachi’s New upgraded Compact 3.0Ah Lithium Ion battery, model BSL1830C (339782) that delivers all the power needed in about half the weight. This new battery has the same capacity as a conventional 3.0Ah Lithium Ion battery, while the height is shortened by 3⁄4 of an inch and the weight is 0.6 lbs. less (compared to Hitachi battery model BSL1830) making the work experience lighter, more comfortable and more convenient.

The batteries are also equipped with Hitachi’s Multiplex Protection Circuit to prevent over-load, over-charge and over-discharge that further extends the lifetime of the battery. They are fully compatible with all Hitachi 18V Lithium Ion slide type tools for even more flexibility across Hitachi’s cordless line.

Each Cordless Framing Nailer comes with a Compact 3.0Ah Lithium Ion battery. And with Hitachi’s recent Affordable Battery Program launched over the summer, now Hitachi compact 3.0Ah batteries can be purchased at retail for an everyday low price of only $39.99 and Hitachi’s 1.5Ah battery is selling for only $29.99- making the Hitachi battery platform a revolution in the cordless market.

The Charger (model UC18YFSL) cools the battery during the charging cycle to prevent overheating and comes with a red light indicator to clearly indicate the stage of charging the battery has achieved.

All Hitachi Cordless Brushless Framing Nailers come with a Lifetime Lithium-Ion tool warranty, 2-year Lithium-Ion Battery warranty and 1-year Lithium-Ion Charger warranty for ultimate peace of mind. For the contractor, remodeler or weekend warrior seeking a reputable Battery Powered Cordless Framing Nailer for all construction framing and punch out work that delivers ultimate convenience and reliable performance, then look no further than Hitachi’s New Cordless Lithium Ion Framing Nailer series. And with three cordless Finish Nailers in the series already, Hitachi’s got you covered in the cordless category.
