EasyHeat Residential Heating Cables

EasyHeat, the leader in residential pipe freeze protection, presents the AHB Series pipe heating system. Pre-assembled and ready to install, the cable prevents pipes from freezing, keeping water flowing to -40 degrees F.

When water freezes in a pipe, it causes water pressure to increase downstream leading to a pipe failure. If the ice expands enough, the pipe bursts, water escapes and serious damage results. According to State Farm Insurance, a 1/8-inch crack in a pipe can spew up to 250 gallons of water a day, causing flooding, serious structural damage, and the immediate potential for mold. Pipes exposed to cold air, especially flowing air on a windy day, freeze at about 20 degrees F because of cracks in an outside wall, improper heating, quick drops in temperatures, or lack of insulation.

With it's energy-saving thermostat, AHB cables automatically switch electricity on and off, based on the temperature. The cables operate on standard 120 Volts AC and are suitable for use on plastic or metal water pipes, producing a fixed amount of safe heat.

AHB cables are ready-to-install, coming complete with grounded plug, thermostat and easy-to-follow instructions. Construction of the system includes a braided metal jacket for ground, a black outer jacket, thermostat, 2-foot orange 18/3 supply cord with grounded plug, and an integral power indicator light.

Key features are:

  • Tough PVC inner insulation
  • Weather-resistant PVC outer jacket
  • Continuous ground braid for safety
  • 3-wire grounded cord and plug
  • 7 watts per foot
  • 120 volts
  • Approved for rigid plastic and metal pipe.

AHB pipe heating cables are available in lengths from 3 feet to 80 feet in wattage ranging from 21W to 560W. Prices start at $36.99 (U.S.). To contact an EasyHeat representative in the US call 800-537-4732 or in Canada at 800-794-3766. Visit www.easyheat.com.
