American Welding Society Expands its Commitment to Welding Education

Society offers a full slate of training opportunities this summer.

AWS is excited to spotlight a range of opportunities for professionals looking to enhance their knowledge and career development this summer.

Whether they’re an instructor seeking support, a young professional looking to gain exposure to leadership opportunities, or a seasoned professional looking to enrich their knowledge, AWS has a host of options to help make this summer their most powerful yet.

AWS Education offers new and experienced welding professionals an unmatched selection of instructor-led, in-person, and online courses, such as Professional Development Webinars which will feature two new titles offered entirely in Spanish. During the summer months, all Professional Development Webinars and self-paced online courses will be discounted.

There is also a wide array of conferences, workshops, and events featuring presentations by industry experts where attendees can expand their knowledge, earn PDHs, and leverage networking opportunities. Individuals looking to attend in-person events can find a complete list by visiting aws.org/conferences.

“We know how incredibly busy professionals in our industry are all year round, but we also know that there is a desire to seek continued professional development,” said Alicia Garcia, Director, Education and Training. “Summer is a great time to focus on career growth. We’re building on our catalog to offer a well-rounded lineup to support their efforts, all backed by the globally recognized authority that sets the standards for the welding industry.”

For educators and institutions, AWS offers the Leadership Symposium and Instructors Institute. The Leadership Symposium is a great opportunity for volunteers to meet key AWS staff, gain knowledge on AWS and its programs/services, share ideas, and develop solutions related to the industry. Similarly, the Instructors Institute allows welding instructors to enhance and strengthen their teaching skills, experience hands-on learning of new teaching techniques, and learn more about AWS programs.

Both events are hosted at AWS Headquarters in Miami, FL, allowing participants to immerse themselves with educators and institutions nationwide.

Garcia continued, “These events create wonderful opportunities to connect people and provide a learning forum to foster the next generation of welders.” Welding professionals looking to propel their education and career growth this summer with AWS Education can find more information by visiting AWS.org/Powerful.
