Reference Guides to the International Fire Code and Accessibility Code Now Available

Delmar releases first two reference guides in Code Source Series.

Delmar introduces the first two installments of the new Code Source series – Code Source: Fire Code and Code Source: Accessibility.

Unlike other fire code resources, Code Source: Fire Code pairs comprehensive coverage with superior readability which makes it easier for Fire Officials, Builders, Construction Professionals, and other Code Officials to quickly access need-to-know information. This valuable resource provides an introduction to the guidelines and recommendations for fire department inspections. The new reference guide examines code points and detailed inspection items for each occupancy group and emphasizes the keys to compliance throughout.

Code Source: Accessibility is an innovative resource that explores the accessibility requirements that apply to commercial, residential and existing buildings. The book focuses on four major industry publications: the International Building Code (IBC) and its accessibility reference standard A117.1 – 2003, the revised Americans with Disabilities Act/Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG 2004) and the Federal Fair Housing Act's Accessibility Guidelines (FH Act). The standards set forth by these documents serve as a foundation for the construction of code-compliant buildings, and Code Source: Accessibility is a comprehensive collection of their most critical provisions.

"It is important that building professionals are up-to-date with all codes, which is why this new series from Delmar provides this critical information in an easy to follow reference format, making it simple to access the material on a moment's notice," said Greg Clayton, vice president, Delmar. "The Code Source series features important sections such as the 'Keys to Compliance' which emphasizes critical compliance information, making this series stand apart from all other code reference guides."

The final guide to be released in the series will be Code Source: Energy Conservation Code, a guide to complying with the energy provisions of the 2009 IECC and the standards set forth by the American Recovery and Re-investment Act (ARRA). Designed to assist field inspectors and plans examiners with the completion and performance of their duties, it uses a simple, easy-to-understand format that lists out the most common code items, clearly organized in a manner that is most efficient for those on the job.
