A series of stalled, multimillion-dollar construction projects dots the Las Vegas Strip with no indication of restarting. Financial problems plagued many projects, such as the $3 billion Fontainebleau Resort and the $600 million St. Regis tower. These stalled buildings undergo regular inspections to ensure that they are structurally sound, but some engineers are concerned about the need for retrofits if building codes change before construction resumes.
